How to Use LinkedIn Filters to Find Verified Remote International Jobs

LinkedIn can be a goldmine for remote roles—if you know how to filter out noise and focus on real companies. Here’s a practical approach.

LinkedIn isn’t just for networking; it’s one of the best places to find remote jobs from real companies. The catch? You also see fake recruiters, vague "opportunities," and sometimes outright scams. Using filters and a few verification habits can save you time and keep you safe.

Step 1: Use Job Search Filters

Go to Jobs and use the search bar for your role (e.g. "content writer," "virtual assistant," "software developer"). Then:

  • Remote: Under "Remote" or location filters, choose "Remote" so you see work-from-home and distributed roles.
  • Date posted: Select "Past week" or "Past 24 hours" to get fresher listings.
  • Experience level: Match your level (e.g. Entry level, Associate) to reduce mismatches.
  • Company: Sometimes filtering by "Easy Apply" or known company names helps, but don’t rely only on big names—smaller verified companies hire too.

Step 2: Verify the Company and Recruiter

Before you apply or reply to a message:

  1. Click the company name and check their LinkedIn page: real companies usually have a logo, description, employee count, and recent activity.
  2. Open the company’s official website (from their profile or a quick Google search). Confirm the job is also listed on their career page if possible.
  3. Check the recruiter’s profile: do they work at that company? Do they have a realistic network and history? Fake profiles often have few connections and generic photos.
Red flag: If a "recruiter" contacts you about a "remote job" and quickly asks for your WhatsApp, email, or payment for "registration" or "training," it’s likely a scam. Legit HR will use LinkedIn or company email and won’t charge you.

Step 3: Prefer Applications Through LinkedIn or Company Sites

Apply via "Apply on LinkedIn" or the company’s career page when possible. That way you’re on a known platform. If someone asks you to apply only via a random Google Form or to send personal documents to a personal email before any offer, slow down and verify the company first.

Pro tip: Turn on "Open to work" and set your preferences (remote, job titles) so recruiters can find you. But never share bank details or pay anyone for "job placement."

Real remote international jobs exist on LinkedIn every day. Filter well, verify the employer, and never pay to apply—that’s how you use LinkedIn safely and effectively.
